If you want a good quality, affordable RV, here it is! Winnebago had decades of experience designing user-friendly motorhomes to sell and last. Steer away from bulky, gas-guzzling RV’s, and into this sleeker, easy-to-drive, easy-to-park, easy-to-set-up motorhome!

Similar to the Phasar and predecessor to the Rialta, Winnebago produced the LeSharo for optimized fuel economy. Utilizing a van chassis (Class B, no special driver license), the 4-cylinder gas engine boasts 22+ mpg! This LeSharo is one of 21,000 sold in North America from 1983 to 1992, popularized by those desiring a compact motorhome with a spacious feel. This is the model’s fifth year of production. By 1987, Winnebago streamlined its look, improved the camper functionality, and made driving easier with an automatic transmission. The rear body adopted a larger window and enclosed the spare tire within the body. The design and fuel economy created LeSharo’s original popularity and today’s cult following! This one is ready to go and use as-is, or you can hire our shop to rehab, improve, update, or repurpose to your desires.

CONDITION

EXTRAORDINARY CONDITION! A great and rare find! We are Vintage Trailer Land (vintagetrailerland.com), we repair, restore, and repurpose vintage trailers and retro RVs. Most our work is on customer’s RV’s, but we purchased this LeSharo because of its preserved condition. It’s been unusually well-cared-for and kept garaged by its previous, long-time owner. Our shop has tested everything. We recently performed the following service & repairs (full report & receipts available upon request):

New radiator, fittings & cap (oversized all-aluminum custom resto-mod radiator).

New serpentine belt.

Rebuilt alternator.

Repainted front end (automotive primer & paint).

Replaced Clearance Lights as needed.

Resealed windshield/seams/components as needed.

Restored gel-coat fiberglass exterior.

Checked fluids & test driven.

INTERIOR:

Fantastic condition. We’d call this a “cream puff” (or darn-near it, especially considering it’s 38 years old). Everything has been tested (fridge, stove, plumbing, electrical etc.). All original cabinetry, carpet, cushions, curtains, etc. intact and in great condition. There is evidence the roof vent leaked (staining on ceiling), but has not leaked in our testing or in recent torrential Oregon downpours. The roof vent was probably (accidentally) left open a time or two. The rear window glass has had a sealant applied to the edges (not a very careful job) that appears would hinder its ability to open as the emergency exit. No other significant wear or damage.

EXTERIOR:

Great condition. The fiberglass body exterior makes for easy cleaning and low maintenance. We applied “Protect All Fiberglass Oxidation Remover and Color Restorer (this took about 7 total hours of mechanical buffing; more can be applied for further restore/protect). There’s no cracks in any window glass. As pictured, the original brown stripes show some peeling and light fading. There are a few scratches/rubs in the body (as would be expected in an RV that was driven and used), but no dents or major damage. We prepped, primered, and repainted the front end with Valspar 327 Series Acrylic Urethane Enamel auto paint. We inspected, cleaned and re-sealed seams and vents/fixtures as needed, but it’s not a complete re-seal job of everything.

ENGINE:

Vehicle runs and drives GREAT; starts right up. See above List for recent repairs. This RV was used a few months ago for a weekend camping trip without any issues (and our shop has improved it since then). Lights all work: Running, Brake, Tail, and Turn Signals; however, the Hazard Flashers do not work (possibly a bad switch?). Tires hold air and have good tread, but sidewalls show age-cracking and DOT codes show year 2005. Therefore, it is recommended to replace all tires before travelling far distances. IMPORTANT: we are not mechanics and recommend you have your own mechanical/drivetrain assessment performed. All available paperwork/receipts will be provided. Mechanic inspections are welcome.

RV SYSTEMS:

Great Condition. See pics of Winnebago’s original brochure for complete list of this unit’s features. We have performed a complete systems check and addressed any issues found (all minor stuff). Items noted as not working: Toaster Oven lower heating element not working (the upper element (broiler) works); shower wand not working (it’s part of the faucet (which is working) and appears the diverter valve to send the water up to the wand isn’t working). There is a working 35amp power converter onboard, but no generator (Winnebago offered as an option only). If not otherwise mentioned, all systems work; everything.

THIRD PARTY VEHICLE AND/OR RV INSPECTION(S) ARE WELCOME. We are happy to accommodate on-site inspections; or we can drive it to a local shop of your choice for a fee.
