  Available for your consideration here is an awesome placer gold mining claim. It is located near Yosemite National Park and the surrounding landscape is very similar. The first 10 pictures are ON the claim, 8 others near park and camp areas, plus the map and papers. I have alot I could not post. This beautiful and majestic 20-acre claim is staked on the gold rich Bean Creek and is intersected by North Fork Merced River coming in from the east and flowing south. Several famous gold mines located upstream have produced millions. At the intersection of the 2 waterways and up the hill.. sits 8 different claims known as the Diana Gold mines. This area is an exceptionally rich mining district in the Sierra Nevada east gold belt. With all the rough weather over this past couple years.. prospects are phenomenal. Entry to Mariposa Gold placer claim starts with a 1/4 mile hike on the Diana Trailhead, parking is directly across the street and camping 100 yards down the road in a “buck meadows” area.. The best thing is there is NO significant change in elevation from parking to the claim, just the short hike.

  Water is still flowing pretty good right now, yet bedrock can be seen everywhere on the claim. There are falls and crevices, boulders and other gold traps found up and down the waterways as pictured.. with many gravel deposits along on the banks of the river. Quartz veins and tailings are found all around with a 4 foot wide quartz vein crossing the North Fork Merced river. Claims like this with all the opportunity for different kinds of exploration are not found easily. Metal detecting on sides of the river is somewhat easy here and has been good to me. The Mariposa Gold placer claim is perfect for family oriented prospecting.. not to many dangers for the younger ones and not to difficult for the older ones.. (me). Yosemite national park administrators in conjuction with Mariposa county officials work closely together to promote amminities for travelers. It is a gorgeous area where I enjoy camping hiking and fishing as much as prospecting. The drive from Mariposa to Coulterville is off the planet. OMG.. beauty at it’s finest. When the road signs say 10mph, 15mph or 25mph.. you BETTER do it. You will fly the car thru the air before you land in the tree tops if you don’t obey signs. Got a significant auto repair done in 1 day, as Mariposa residents cater to people coming to visit the area. I was thrilled.. thanks Bob! You can get anything in Mariposa.. RV parks, hotels groceries gas etc. There is absolutely very limited communications around the claim.
