HP hard drives will only auto-activate in certain HP computers, and Dell is the same way. 

An HP drive will not auto-activate in a Dell PC, or any other manufacturer’s PC, only HP computers. 

Likewise, Dell will not Auto-Activate in an HP.

 Please contact us before starting a return.  If a computer has a problem booting it is typically the SATA Operation setting in the motherboard’s BIOS.  It is very easy to change.  This is uncommon, but if it does happen, it can be very easily changed in 2 minutes. Just contact us and we will send very easy instructions.
