Classic vintage antique Model T Ford

Vehicle Original VIN : 10333471

Do you just want to be in the parade or do you want to lead it with this 1923 Ford Model T coupe? This is the vehicle that put America on wheels, and this example has a more unique style and a driver-ready attitude.

The Model T coupe is an interesting car. After all, we’re used to seeing plenty from the series, but most of them are open-top touring sedans. The coupe is a rarer body style that adds a touch of sophistication to the everyman car. After all, you get a weather-friendly full body with upright glass, a two-piece windshield, and an overall distinct upgrading style. This is Henry Ford’s famous black, and while it is not the original paint, it will have most people thinking it is. That’s because the 1950s application was done in a now-classic lacquer, and you have all the right aged in appearance that only comes with time. And there are terrific little details, like the manual windshield wiper, MotoMeter radiator cap, and a toolbox behind the trunk. This even has a tool kit that comes with the sale.

The closed body means you get to have an interior done in cloth. Just like the exterior, this was refreshed in the 1950s, but the classic mohair style has aged in so that onlookers will assume it’s original (we won’t tell the secret if you won’t.) The dash is a simple affair, with just controls for the ignition system and an ammeter. Controls will be familiar to anyone who’s driven a T, but if you’ve never piloted this famous Ford, don’t worry because millions have mastered it before you. Working the controls is part of this car’s charm.

The Model T’s powerplant was the trusty 177 cubic-inch inline-four. This might not be large by today’s standards, but the torque-filled powerhouse knew how to easily outpace the horse and buggy. You’ll be surprised at how much you’ll enjoy driving it, and how intuitive the maintenance is. The motor has a very honest presentation, so it has the kind of style where you won’t be afraid to work within the ample space of the engine bay. In fact, it has also been given more recent investment, including newer wiring and a newer water pump. And the result is a car that loves to be a runner.

The sale comes complete with the owner’s manual, service manuals, and build receipts. This one has an honest style that’s terrific, right down to the wood wheels. So as much as you love seeing it in the pictures, it will be even more fun showing it off at the events. Don’t miss this T coupe, call today!

New Vehicles come with a full-factory warranty. Used vehicles may have a remaining-factory warranty, but please contact us for the warranty details specific to this vehicle.

1918 Ford Model T

1918 Ford Model T

Price: 10,000.00 USD

1918 Ford Model T

Here is a beautifully restored 1918 Ford Model T Centerdoor.  It has been updated with  a rebuilt 1923 engine/transmission and the drive train is rebuilt with a standard 3.67 ratio ring and pinion set.  Special features include a Warford transmission and disc brakes.  Auxiliary brakes are a great safety feature on Model T’s.   Regarding the Warford low-range; low setting is a good assist when loading a car on a trailer or on steep inclines. The high setting in Warford low-range is good for typical slower speeds often encountered in Model T tours and parades (when loafing along at 15-20 mph in Ford high is hardon the engine in Ford high).  The coils were just tuned on an ECCT, the spark plugs cleaned and gapped, and the Anderson-style timer inspected.  The electrical system is converted to 12 volts so the lights are bright and starting is easy.   On the new engine, due to the issues associated with generators, mainly with the “cut-out” switch, a modern alternator has been installed.   This rebuilt motor is strong, easily cruising at 35-40 mph.

Speaking of safety, all the glass in the car has been replaced with laminated glass, removing the issues of the plate glass that came with these cars.  You can see from the photos the car has a beautiful green paint job and the interior is an all new, exact reproduction of the original fabric and materials supplied by Classtique Upholstery of Lindstrom, MN  .  The interior features items which are unique to the pre-1920 Centerdoors such as carpeted cowl and door panels and window shades on the three rear windows.  Also characteristic of 1918 are the “bale” door handles.  The Universal brand, 30X3.5 demountable tires are good, but one has some weather checking and should be swapped with the spare, which is good.  There was some front-end repair done recently so the radiator shell, green in the photos, is now black.  Note that the front passenger seat is not mounted, a common practice with these cars.  The seat comes with the car and installation is quite simple.  This car is in such good condition that it should provide years of enjoyment.  The car comes with the Arkansas title which has an earlier 1920 engine number.  Engine swaps are common on these early cars and a Bill of Sale will be provided to document the engine number change to the present replacement engine.

On Dec-22-23 at 07:27:36 PST, seller added the following information:

Added note; The disc brakes, rebuilt engine, Warford transmission and new interior represent over $10,000 in improvements on this car.  I did not include a picture of the top but it is new and flawless.  .

On Dec-22-23 at 12:54:26 PST, seller added the following information:

I forgot new laminated glass in the above note.

I can transport the car up to 500 miles for a fee.

1921 Ford Model T

1921 Ford Model T

Price: 12,000.00 USD

1921 Ford Model T

This 1921 Model T Ford Roadster is one I purchased from a gentleman who had been given the car by his father 10 years before and he estimated he had put, maybe, 300 miles on it in that time.  It was not in a good state of repair.  My thinking was to fix what was necessary on the car and sell it to someone new to the hobby who would appreciate a “trouble-free” Model T.  Most of the “repair” was straightforward – bad coils, battery in backwards, timer shot, plugs and wires needed to be replaced etc.  I went through everything on the car, making some additions which are described below, and have ended up with an excellent vehicle.

Unlike many Model T’s, this car has virtually no rattles.  It has “pancake style” Hassler shocks which make a surprising difference in the ride.  The car is a 12-volt system which means bright lights and strong starting. Speaking of starting, the starter on the car was basically shot so I installed a modern version, 12-volt gear reduced starter with a built-in solenoid ($500 purchase, Snyder’s part #T-5099-12).  Of course, this eliminates the concerns with12-volt systems and eliminates the Model T Bendix issues.

An interesting feature of this car is the 5-lug demountable JAXON wheels (30X3.5 tires).  One can find out about the JAXON company on the internet – they built aftermarket wheels in “the day”.  I do not have a fix on when these wheels were put on the car, but I have an idea when it happened.  On the radiator is a badge relating to the Ocean-to-Ocean run done in 1959.  I know this was an event sponsored by the Ford Motor Company to celebrate its 50thanniversary.  A group of Model T’s were driven from NYC to Seattle, following approximately the route taken on the first trans-continental race in 1909 which was won by a 1909 Ford Torpedo.  The fact that this car runs so well might be explained by how well it would have been conditioned to complete the run in1959.  I know a little about this preparation work since I did the same O2O run in 2009 and 2019 (4400 miles each time) with my 1914 Touring car.  The brakes on this car are typical Model T and it would benefit from installation of Rocky Mountain or disc brakes.  To do this would mean the rear Hassler shocks would have to come off.

For safety reasons I have added a turn signal system made by Electro-Tech of Blaine, MN.  This remarkable system doesn’t care if the power is 6 or 12-volt, + or – ground, takes any kind of light bulb without resisters in line and is programmed to turn itself off after 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds. It also has a safety flasher programmed in.  There is a period-correct operational spotlight, and it is equipped with a straight pipe exhaust system (see photo).  I can switch it to a muffler system if desired.

As far as general condition, it is a “20-footer”, and the interior and top are good.  The wood wheels could use a coat of varnish sometime. The car starts and runs well and should be good for years of trouble-free riving.  A bonus, the car comes with a silver-plate bowl and two silver-plate platters won at the Illinois State Fare in 1961, 62 and 66.  They need polish!  I have the Florida title.  I can provide transportation up to 500 miles from Dade City, FL for a fee.

    1925 Model T Truck

For consignment, a true survivor with all factory parts either refreshed or rebuilt over the last 8 years.  This includes a rebuilt engine and new bands for the transmission.  All rust free on the front of the cars steel and fenders, and the remainder of the truck is patina painted wood, with very little rotting.

    Exterior

This all squared off and simple body has been put on to a Model T chassis and retaining the Model T front clip.  Curved fenders, black painted radiator surround with a thermostat winged topper, two headlights and a rounded cowled hood are all presenting in a rustic satin black.  From the firewall back is the all wood cab with swinging entry doors on either side, canvas roof, and a flip open rear window.  The wood is all painted a patina green.  On the back is the solid wood bed with wood sides and angled edge boards to keep cargo at bay and add a boat of extra height.  This is all painted green as well.  A few panels in the bed side are showing some previous rotting.  Kerosene lamps hang from the sides of the cab next to a flip out windshield in a wood frame.  On the back is a simple low tailgate and below in the driver’s side is an electric tail light.  30-inch wood spoked wheels fit nicely into the rounded steel fenders held together by a running board.

    Interior

Utilitarian but effective with a simple bench seat refinished in black vinyl complete with an extra cushion for a seat that sits on a wood frame and has a driver’s and passenger’s side seat back.  A simple wood dash with a mere ignition and an amperes gauge on a metal plate and you have it.  The steering wheel is very large and is black metal wrapped in a nicely preserved wood.  For the construction of the interior cab and rear enclosed cab area, wood bead board is in use for the headliner, and this has a few rows of horizontally opposing thick furring strips as structural support.  The floors are lined with ribbed rubber over wood and are in good condition.  A typical model T configuration with a 3 pedal setup to drive the truck is on the floors.

    Drivetrain

A 177ci 4 cylinder engine in good condition sits under the cowled hood.  It has a 1-barrel carburetor and a 2-speed manual planetary transmission.  On the back is a 3.64 rear axle.  It is looking like a modern distributor and wiring has been added in.

    Undercarriage

With a chassis fully restored this undercarriage shows no rust, and is mechanically sound.  Mostly wood for the floorboards, and some light steel for the simple framing.  Transverse leaf springs provide the suspension, and mechanical drum brakes are on the rear wheels only.

    Drive-Ability

After a slight crank, the engine came to life and off I was to the test track.  The 3 pedal setup always takes a bit of getting used to but once in effect, it’s like riding a bicycle.  The truck drives smoothly and motoring is a pleasure at a pace of yore.  There are new bands in the transmission so it does not have the usual slip of most Model T’s I’ve driven in the past.

A nice example, believed to be mostly original due to its life spent in storage.  It runs, drives and is a true survivor from this era of much simpler times.  OK I’m done waxing nostalgic!
