FAQ

Why Does Windows 7 cost more?

We try to be competitive in the market and provide services others may not include. Included in this small fee, is the choice of either 32-Bit or 64-bit OS, and we also install all ESU (Extended Service Updates) to all of our systems. PLEASE BE AWARE: If your devices or peripherals only have 32-bit drivers, these won’t work in 64-bit OS. 32-bit software will work on 64-bit OS but not 32-bit drivers. Please contact mfg for 32-bit drivers or 64-bit drivers.

Why Does Windows XP cost more?

Since Windows XP is an obsolete Operating System (OS), it is harder to acquire and install appropriate drivers for 1) Installation and 2) up to 90% functionality without errors or BSOD. While Windows 7 is obsolete as well, Drivers are easily to come by. We have expertise and programmers that install and validate the setup process; and this adds time.

Can I buy more than one unit, in any configuration?

Yes, you can. 

Please message us beforehand if you need more than one unit under a single purchase.

Can I have Linux installed instead of Windows?

Yes, you can.

We would like to accommodate our customers as much as possible. We have experience in installing and verifying Linux distros into our computers. 

Previous customers have requested Debian or QubesOS to be installed. 

Just chose your configuration with any Windows OS and, at checkout, leave us a message with the Linux OS of your choosing.

Shipping address must match on eBay account. We do not ship to third party.

All items will ship within 1-3 business days after payment received.

We offer shipping via USPS, UPS and FedEx.We do not ship any item via your arranged shipping/transportation company.

Economic Shipping will be the cheapest service available for your area. The service may take up to two (2) weeks depending on external factors such as weather, disruptions, backlog, etc.

We have no control on shipment once the item(s) is/are in the carrier’s hands. We will work with you to resolve any lost or damaged item along with the carrier. Shipping insurance recommended on all purchases.

All items have a warranty of 30 days from day of received shipment.

Some units may require software upgrade, firmware upgrade or even part(s) upgrade to be compatible for your needs.

All return or exchange item must match the serial number that was shipped.

If you wish to return an item for a refund for any reason, you can, provided you return the product within 30 days from the date of purchase. The product has to be returned in the condition you received it in and in its original packaging. Unless the product is defective the return will be subject to a 15% restocking fee of the purchase price. If the product is missing items that originally shipped with it or in a different condition than shipped, the return may be rejected and no refund given. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and handling costs involved.

Warranty/Returns Policy

ALL warranted items must be processed through our RMA system. Once the claim is determined to be valid the following policy applies:

1.)Warranty Items (Non-DOA -Dead on Arrival)?

A.)If the product can be repaired Sunsetmicro.com will ship the part to the customer and walk them through replacing the part if the customer is comfortable with that. Or if the customer prefers he can ship the product back to Sunsetmicro.com at his expense and we will repair the product within 48 hours of arrival and ship it back to the customer at Sunsetmicro.com’s expense.

B.)If the product cannot be fixed the customer will have to purchase a replacement and Sunsetmicro.com will cover shipping of the replacement product (ground only). The customer will be responsible to ship the defective back to Sunsetmicro.com with the RMA # provided. Once Sunsetmicro.com receives the defective product and the claim is deemed valid the customer will then be credited for the product. If the claim is not valid a 25% restock fee will apply and the customer is responsible for any shipping fees accrued on behalf of Sunsetmicro.com.

2.) Warranty Items as Valid DOA (Dead on Arrival). MUST BE REPORTED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF ARRIVAL!?

A .) If the item(s) is found DOA (Dead on Arrival) the customer will need to purchase replacement. Sunsetmicro.com will cover ground shipping of the replacement to the customer and will send a RMA return label in the box for the defective to be returned. If the replacement printer needs to be expedited it will be at the customers expense. Once Sunsetmicro.com receives the defective product back and the claim is deemed valid the customer will be refunded. If the claim is not valid the customer will be responsible for a 25% restock fee and any shipping charges accrued on behalf of Sunsetmicro.com.

B.) If the customer wants to return the item for credit, the item will be shipped back to Sunsetmicro.com on a Sunsetmicro.com account and evaluated to determine valid DOA. If DOA is valid customer will then be refunded. If the DOA is not valid and the customer still wants a credit they will be responsible for any shipping charges accrued on behalf of Sunsetmicro.com and a 25% restock fee on the product.

3.) What does the Warranty Cover?

WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DAMAGE DUE TO MISUSE, NEGLECT, NON-COMPLIANCE, IMPROPER INSTALLATION, AND/OR ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Inc / Sunsetmicro.com Warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear; damage or loss of data due to interoperability with current and/or future versions of operating system or other current and/or future software and hardware; alterations (by persons other than Sunsetmicro.com; damage caused by operator error or non-compliance with instructions as set out in the user documentation or other accompanying documentation; damage caused by acts of nature such as lightning, storms, floods, fires, and earthquakes, etc. Products evidencing the product serial number has been tampered with or removed; misuse, neglect, and improper handling; damage caused by undue physical, temperature, or electrical stress; counterfeit products; damage or loss of data caused by a computer virus, worm, Trojan horse, or memory content corruption; failures of the product which result from accident, abuse, misuse (including but not limited to improper installation, connection to incorrect voltages, and power points); failures caused by products not supplied by Sunsetmicro.com; damage cause by moisture, corrosive environments, high voltage surges, shipping, abnormal working conditions; or the use of the product outside the borders of the country or territory intended for use.

4.) AS-IS or Cores:?

A.) There is no warranty on any AS-IS condition item(s).

5.) Damaged Shipments:?

A.) Customers are responsible to inspect the box and product upon delivery and reject shipments if the box or product is damaged. If a shipment is received damaged the customer needs to contact Sunsetmicro.com ASAP so damaged shipment claim can be filed. If a replacement is needed the customer will have to purchase again. The customer will be refunded when the shipping company refunds Sunsetmicro.com for the damaged product. The shipping company is responsible for crediting back the shipping charges to the account the product was shipped on.

B.) We recommend that heavy shipments be shipped freight to ensure no shipping damages. If customer chooses not to ship freight we are not responsible for shipping damages and customer will need to contact the shipping company to file a damaged shipment claim. If the customer needs a replacement product, they will need to purchase again. It will be the shipping company’s responsibility to refund the customer for damaged shipment and the shipping charges to the account the product was shipped on.

6.) Order Cancellation:?

A.) Any special, large whole-sale or custom orders that would involve labor, removing from inventory, packing or handling is subject to a 40% of total sales price cancellation fees. This fee will be collected upfront before work on the order begins. This cancellation fee is compensation for any time and effort put into the order by Sunset Micro

7.) Key Reminders: (Please keep in mind)?

A.) Once a warranty claim has been initiated the customer is responsible to provide Sunsetmicro.com with all needed information. Also, have the product shipped back if needed within a time frame of no more than 10business days or the RMA will no longer be available. B.) Customer needs to keep all packing material in case there is a problem with the product. C.) All items returned to Sunsetmicro.com must have a valid RMA# displayed clearly on the outside of the box. D.) All DOA Claims must be filed within (5) days of receipt. E.) A cash refund is only given to the customer if within the first 30 days of the warranty period. After the30 days of the warranty period the customer will only receive an in-store credit.F.) If defective product is not received back by Sunsetmicro.com within 30 days of the date the RMA was initiated the RMA will no longer be valid.G.) If a product has been returned to Sunsetmicro.com and the product does not belong to Sunsetmicro.com the customer has 60 days to take the product back otherwise it will be discarded.H.) Sunsetmicro.com does not cover any shipping fees to/from customers at international destinations.

PLEASE NOTE:

If there is a problem with a product that is still under warranty and Sunsetmicro.com cannot fix the problem nor have replacement then a credit will be issued to the customer.

Any unauthorized work on the unit(s) renders the warranty NULL & VOID!

Shipping

We ship product daily using most of the major shipping names and forms.

Product can be shipped air or ground by the normal carriers like UPS, Fed Ex and USPS and the freight carriers for the larger and heavier orders.

Our preferred air and ground shipper is UPS, but we do use Fed Ex and DHL daily.For a smaller packages, we use USPS.We use many different freight carriers depending on the service offered and cost. The Fed Ex office is about a mile away and we do use them for late shipping air orders. We are open late to ship 90% of our orders on the same day they were ordered.

Most printers go to the refurbishing process after the order is made. Depending on the size and complexity of the particular printer you ordered, it can take from a few hours to a couple of days to prepare the printer or printers. Freight items usually have a cuttoff at around 3:00 p.m central time. If you have a special shipping need please contact us, we will do all possible to assist.

Costs to ship goods are inclusive of all associated costs. Boxing, packing, labor, oversize box fees, heavyweight fees, fuel surcharges and the sometimes biyearly price increases from the shipping carriers. Freight shipments can involve many cost factors like your zip code, if the freight is going residential or business, if you will require a tailgate, if you have a 4 foot high loading dock, and if you would like indoor delivery. Please remember these are semi truck drivers not delivery people.

A. Your computer will include a new Genuine Microsoft Windows 10 Digital License Key.

Q. What accessories are included with computer?

A. Every computer we sell includes all necessary cables, product licenses, instructions and documentation. Laptops will come with Lithium Ion Batteries (Battery is not guaranteed to hold a charge.) The product description will list any additional accessories. If listed, included keyboard and mouse may not match brand of computer.

Q. How long will it take to receive my computer?

A. You will receive tracking information via email (the email address associated with your PayPal account) within three business days of purchase, and will be shipped FedEx Ground.

Q. Can I change shipping address after purchase?

A. Shipping address cannot be changed after purchase and must be a verified PayPal address.

Q. What can you tell me about the monitor?

A. If a monitor is included, the size of your monitor is measured diagonally and is specified in the product listing. Brand of monitor may not be the same as the brand of computer.

Q. What type of computers do we sell?

A. We sell off-lease business and education computers than are business class. Business class computers are meant to last longer than consumer class computers.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to do their own homework and ensure the product is compatible with what they are purchasing it for. If buyer has any questions concerning the item…contact us prior to purchasing the item in question. Returns will not be accepted due to “wrong item purchased” or “changed my mind” reason’s. Some listings may not come with software required for the unit.  If it is not listed, it does not come with it.

“30-DAY HARDWARE WARRANTY“ = Items listed with “30-Day Hardware Warranty” in their listing are for hardware malfunction/defects only. It does not cover cosmetic damage or software issues. If the listing does not state “30-Day Hardware Warranty” then it has no warranty outside of EBAY’s “not as described” warranty. This warranty period begins on the date the item is received.

No OS / OS Not Loaded / COA only stated in a listing means that there is no Operating System Loaded on the Unit that is posted for sale. The COA (Certificate of Authenticity) sticker is located on the unit and has the Product Key needed to be able to load that OS on your unit. Obtaining the proper disk/flash drive for the OS is the buyer’s responsibility.

No COA means that the unit for sale does not contain the COA or Product Key needed to load an Operating System on the PC. Buyer is responsible for everything needed (COA and Install Disk) to load an Operating System on the unit.

If a PC (laptop and/or Desktop) reads “Hardrive Error” “Media Not Found” or “No Bootable Device Found” type of message on the screen.. this is not a defect in the unit. It means an Operating System needs to be loaded on the unit. Our units are sold/shipped with a completely clean/wiped Hardrive so the unit will give this kind of message until an OS is loaded.

IF AT ANY TIME WE DECIDE TO ACCEPT A RETURN (AS A COURTESY) THAT IS OUTSIDE OUR WARRANTY DESCRIPTION THERE WILL BE A 20% RESTOCKING FEE AND ORIGINAL SHIPPING CHARGES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. BUYER WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF RETURN SHIPPING. THE DECISION WHETHER TO ACCEPT A RETURN (THAT IS OUTSIDE OUR WARRANTY DESCRIPTION) IS SOLELY AT OUR DESCRETION.

BATTERY POLICY = We do NOT warranty batteries on any used devices. Most of our items are used equipment and it is priced as such. Batteries are fairly inexpensive to purchase new on eBay.
