Description: Cutthroat careerism, wild sex, and fierce female protagonists are all on offer in this adaptation of Jacqueline Susann s sensational and wildly popular novel. Patty Duke (The Miracle Worker), Barbara Parkins (Peyton Place), and Sharon Tate star as three friends attempting to navigate the glamorous, pressurized world of big-time show business the valley is not a place but a narcotized state of mind, and the dolls are the pills that rouse them in the morning and knock them out at night. Blending old-fashioned gloss with Madison Avenue grooviness, this slick look by director Mark Robson (Peyton Place) at the early days of sexual liberation and an entertainment industry coming apart was a giant box-office hit and has become an unforgettably campy time capsule of the 1960s.

Description: In a remarkable documentary the award-winning director Roman Polanski talks candidly about his life and career with Andrew Braunsberg, his former business partner, producer, and friend of many years.

The film encompasses Polanski’s childhood amid the horror of the Krakow ghetto, his first films in Poland, his move to Paris and flourishing career in Europe and America crowned with an Oscar for The Pianist the tragedy of the murder of his pregnant wife Sharon Tate, the controversy surrounding his arrest in 1977, and his work and life today in France with his wife Emmanuelle Seigner.

The conversations were recorded at Polanski’s home in Gstaad, Switzerland, where he remained under house arrest for several months in 2009 and 2010, and are illustrated with excerpts from his films, news footage, press coverage, private and exclusive photos, and documents; all chronicling an extraordinary life marked by trauma and distinguished by astonishing creativity and international acclaim.

Often moving, this film is a rare glimpse into the world of Roman Polanski as he speaks in more detail about his life than he ever has before, or possibly ever will again.

“The Fearless Vampire Killers” is in my opinion, the first modern day horror/comedy, or should I say, comedy/horror? Sure, you had earlier films like “Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein,” “Ghost Breakers,” “the Old Dark House (both versions),” even “the Munsters” & ” The Adams Family” on TV. These films were geared more towards a younger audience, both in their horror & comedy, where” the Fearless Vampires Killers” is a much more adult & sophisticated in it’s comedy & horror, but that is not to say it can’t appeal to most age groups today in this environment.
